DeepDrawingSketch.jpgThe deep drawing method allows cold as well as hot pressing. This depends on the plate thickness, the diameter and the material alloy of the blank.

The forming process is performed on a so-called deep drawing press. The forming process is carried out by pressing a blank by means of stamp – similar to a template – through a drawing ring. The ring is responsible for the outside diameter and the stamp for the head shape and inside diameter.

The blank holder is used for thinner plate thicknesses to avoid the wrinkling of the blank during the forming process.
